Qube Workout Part 1

I am doing a Quilt Along on the Qube Facebook group and will post helpful hints here on the blog. The files will be posted until the quilt is finished and then the files will be compiled as a pattern for sale in my quilt shop. Here are pictures of the quilt from EQ8. One is a “scrappy” version and the other is a coordinated colorway. 01 Broken Dishes QubeWorkout Yardage

  1. wow! You’ve worked hard on this! Alas, I don’t have a Qube. I’ve been Accuquilting since it came out & have SEW many dies! I’ll have to check to see if have all of the ones in a cube! I do know I need to replace the 3-1/2″ (3″ finished) HST die. It doesn’t cut well anymore. Happy Easter week, Marjorie!

    1. Hi Alicia, I got a lot of the Qubes because I was designing quilts for the AccuQuilt website. In the end, I gave all my other dies to my sister-in-law. And I bent a blade on my 3-1/2″ (3″ finished) HST. Not sure how it happened. Check on the website, they have the dies for each set listed. I feel sure you already have the ones we will be using. And you can always rotary cut if you absolutely have to. Would love to have you stitching along.

  2. Dear Marjorie, thank you for doing this. I think I am going to make Variation 3 as a center bedtopper, instead of a bedrunner. I will use my 6″ Qube, as I don’t use that one too often. 45″ square will be perfect in the center of the bed on top of a solid bed cover. Thanks, again. Shelly Gische

    1. Hi Darlene, I saw your request and approved your membership. Bea Lee started the group and asked me to help moderate and now she has gone to MeWe so I’m pretty much on my own with it. She always did a QAL, so I decided to take up that mantle too. Will see how it goes. I am amazed at the number of people who have Qubes and haven’t used them. I hope this will help people quilt more.

  3. Looks beautiful! I think I will put it on my to do now list:) I did not know of the Qube Facebook group either. Thank you, I will check it out. By the way I have and love using your embroidery files for the accuquilt appliqués.

    1. Hi Marie,
I completely understand people not being able to do QALs. That has happened to me so many times. I see something I’d love to do, but other things get i the way. Thank you for the compliment on the embroidery. It makes me happy to know others enjoy it too.

    1. Hi Debbie,
You know how I love to play with EQ8, and this is what happens when you start with a simple little block like Broken Dishes. Hope you’re doing well.

    1. Hi Lillian, The name of the group is AccuQuilt Qube Quilts. Search for the name of the group in the search box on your home page. Then ask to join the group. You must answer all three questions or your membership will not be approved. If you do not have a Qube, that is fine, but you must answer the question in some way.
